Distributed Office Training

We’re excited to announce a series of new training offerings under the banner of our Distributed Office theme.

The recent combined efforts of the USM Rollout Team and UCD Agile has identified specific needs resulting from our current remote working arrangements – in the ‘Distributed Office’.

You can read more about the Distributed Office in another post.

Over the next few weeks, we will run a series of short  sessions focusing on some of these key areas.

More DO Training sessions to be announced soon.

Wednesday 9th December

10.00am – Streamlining Meetings

Meetings are a great and necessary part of office life but how often do you think ‘great, another meeting’? How often have you had ‘if only…’ thoughts about a meeting. “How do we help meetings work for us?” This session will help to identify concrete things you can do, and the motivation to act on some quick resolutions.  It also helps you shape your own on-going approach to making meetings work for you and your team.

Thursday 10th December

10.00am – Workshopping Remotely

This session looks beyond our day-to-day work by addressing the question of “how can I run a successful remote workshop?” Using Agile’s favourite remote workshopping tool, Mural, we will look at how to set up and run a successful workshop. Both the technical aspects of workshop planning and structure as well as facilitation skills for a digital environment will be addressed and participants will be encouraged to share their experience, questions and concerns regarding workshopping from home.

Tuesday 15th December

10.00am – Ad hoc query resolution

This workshop looks to the way we work together, as a team, on a day-to-day basis, addressing the question of “How can I keep my team connected and informed while working remotely?”.

We will look at identifying the various jobs you and your team do, and how they can be supported using Google Currents. We’ll look at matching the jobs you and your team do.

We hope you will find these sessions useful.  In the meantime, keep an eye on the Distributed Office section of this website where we will continue to add handy tips and tricks that you may find helpful.
