Welcome

By Michael Sinnott, Director of Agile

November greetings from the Work Smarter Together Community of Practice.  This is our third newsletter since the launch of the CoPs in May.  We have also had a summer School and an October cluster of CoP meetings so it has been a busy year since Work Smarter Together 2017 in March.

Happy Christmas.  OK, it is still a bit early for that but not by much and, as we all know, with the semester coming to its exams climax, followed by the holidays, grading and boards, the start of term, exam results… it will soon be February.  Happy spring – when we will see another cluster of CoP gatherings in the second half of February.

We are looking forward to 2018 and hope you find something interesting in what we have for you in this Work Smarter Together Community of Practice newsletter.

Ah ha. Grammar. There is an argument which says that the seasons are common nouns and not proper nouns and so do not take a capital letter. Mood is essential. And then there’s the argument that if your give the season a human trait (Spring’s insufferable bounciness) you do use a capital.

‘Spring’ as in ‘Happy spring’ should be a capital letter. A lowercase lowers the mood. Mood is important to me.
