We look forward to celebrating the success of UCD’s latest Green Belts who will be presented their awards by Prof. Mark Rogers as he kicks off the event. Two of our Green Belts, Colm Walsh (UCD Global) and Elaine Hickey (UCD Estate Services), will take us through their Green Belt journey. Colm and Elaine will share why they decided to do the Green Belt, what they gained from it personally, and what they achieved by delivering their projects.
The Student experience is at the heart of what many of us do. How students feel about their UCD experience directly impacts what we do. Beginning in early 2019 Olga Murdoch (UCD Agile), with the support of over 100 staff, managed the Student Experience Mapping project which revealed how our students see and navigate the complex UCD landscape. Insights are only as valuable as the action we take as a consequence – in her talk, Olga will share the student perspective developed in this project and let us know what has been happening since then.
Since our last event there has been lots of activity in the WST Communities of Practice. Fergus Mc Auliffe (School of Earth Sciences) will introduce UCD’s newly formed Public Engagement CoP, formally launching on 29th January 2020. Bridín Walsh (IT Services) will talk about the activities and future plans of the Project Managers Community of Practice (CoP) which launched at the WST October 2019 event. You will also hear from Sabine Harrison (School of Agriculture and Food Science) and Jimmy Muldoon (School of Chemistry) on two CoPs – Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry that launched at our WST Summer School event back in July 2019.
Finally, you will get a glimpse of some of your colleague’s innovations and learn how your own efforts (big or small) can be recognised with UCD’s brand new Smart Cards. To hear more join us at #UCDWST February 20 2020.
