Work Smarter Together 2017 (WST 2017) is an exciting UCD-wide event dedicated to celebrating our creativity, innovation and collaboration.
The event creates an opportunity for colleagues from across UCD to get involved and share their experiences of working on collaborative projects and initiatives across teams/units – there are lots of different ways to do this including parallel sessions, poster presentations and networking opportunities.
The spine of the day is formed around our three keynote speakers – check here for the overall shape of what they will contribute:
- David Whyte, poet, author and internationally acclaimed speaker
- Joe Drumgoole, tech entrepreneur and developer advocate at MongoDB
- Dympna Devine, Head of School, UCD School of Education
We are also providing more opportunities for colleagues to work together through pre-event workshops on Tuesday, 14 March 2017. These sessions give you the opportunity for hands on experience with Agile’s Lean training, with Equality, Diversity and Inclusion topics, and with some sessions aimed at those of you who would like to step outside the box and spend more time with your creative side.
All sessions at Work Smarter Together 2017 will take place in the UCD O’Brien Centre for Science.
Online registration begins on 2nd February 2017.
There are two steps to registering – you book your WST 2017 place via online registration and you come to the registration desk on the day to collect your conference badge and to be checked in.
You can also check in from 1pm on March 14 so come along, avoid the queues and browse the poster exhibition.

Pre-event workshops March 14 2017
The optional pre-event sessions on the afternoon of March 14, for which there is a separate registration, gives you an opportunity to work with colleagues from across the campus in workshops, training and creative sessions. The sessions take place in the O’Brien centre.
Separate registration is needed for the pre-event workshops on March 14.

The poster exhibition
The poster exhibition will be on display in the O’Brien concourse from 1.30 on March 14 to the close of WST 2017 at 4.30 on March 15.
Registration check-in for the main event will also be available from from 1 pm to 4.30 on March 14 so even if you are not taking part in one of the workshops you can come over, register for the Wednesday, and browse the posters.
We look forward to seeing you at WST 2017
