3.00-4.00: Becoming a Manager while working remotely – A panel discussion.

We are all familiar with the experience of pivoting, adapting and adjusting what we do since the move to remote working last year. Often this takes the shape of re-imagining what we used to do, using the tools we now have access to. But what happens when you can’t re-imagine because you’ve never imagined in the first place? There are now a growing number of people taking on a role of “Manager” for the first time in this new remote world. Without the foundations of “how I used to manage”, they have built their own approaches, found their own methods and created their own solutions. This session is a discussion among a group of these newly minted remote-managers who share different perspectives on taking up their roles during this challenging time.
Jeremy Britton, Project Manager Unified Support Model with panelists: Paula McGarry (Director, UCD China Joint Colleges), Elena Keany (Deputy Team Lead, Student Desk, Registry), Sarah Butler (Deputy Team Lead, Curriculum Team, Registry)
