Welcome to the first WST CoP Newsletter
By Michael Sinnott, Director of Agile.
Hello and welcome to our first Work Smarter Together Community of Practice Newsletter – WSTCoPNL (pronounced whist-capall) for short … but not for long as we need to find a better name that sounds a little less… like a card game for horses.
So… welcome to the first edition of our newsletter. We hope you enjoy this new way of keeping you connected with some of the creativity and collaboration going on across the university.
Where did the idea of the newsletter come from? At the large WST 2017 gathering in March we said we would make WST ‘more than just a one day event’ and so we had the CoP launch event on May 3.
You may be wondering what we mean by a community of practice (CoP). Check here for more details but, in essence, any CoPs which form will be about building and sharing skills and knowledge, about networking and recognition, driven by people with a common interest in a shared domain.
Our plan through to October this year includes this newsletter in June, a summer school in July, another newsletter at the end of August, and an event again in early October. To stay up to date with all these activities make sure you sign up to the newsletter here.
In this edition you will find stories of collaboration across campus, process improvement tools and techniques, community news and details of our next event – a summer school on July 18. For further details and to register click here.
We hope you find interesting things in this issue and we look forward to meeting you at our events and sharing your stories in our upcoming newsletters. As the newsletter develops the UCD community will become the key contributors – if you have a story, email us at agile@ucd.ie and become a contributor!
Sincerely,
Michael Sinnott, Olga Murdoch, Kim Lacey
